12 - l will honor the sport of kings
Respect is developed with our acknowledgement that the joys and freedoms we enjoy today have often been won at the expense of others who have come before us. I feel blessed to have the gift of surfing in my life just as l feel blessed to have the gift of recovery in my life. l can honor both those gifts by maintaining a program of recovery and living by the surfers code. l find that my life becomes better, as do the lives of those around me...and for that l am grateful.
