11 - All surfers are joined by one ocean
We could spend a lot oftime examining the differences of other surfers in the water, but ultimately there are far more similarities. Similarly, people who enter recovery from addiction have more in common with each other than differences. Uniting in these similarities allows the group to function more efficiently and allows individuals to enjoy more freedoms. Just look at Trestles and how much was accomplished by the surfers who joined together to preserve the world class surf spot.
